Dr. Varleisha D. Gibbs (PhD, OTD, OTR/L, ASDCS), is an occupational therapist, author, and engaging speaker with 20+ years of experience working amongst children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorders, and Neurological disorders. Vice president of practice engagement and capacity building at the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), once prior as the Scientific Programs Officer at AOTA. Additionally, Dr. Varleisha has served as the inaugural chair and director of the master's programs in occupational therapy at Wesley College in Dover, DE, initially tenuring as an associate professor; she has also worked at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, PA, serving as the director of the doctoral programs in occupational therapy. With this expertise within the neurological and cognitive fields, as well as in pediatric therapeutic intervention, she extends her knowledge and caliber through lectures and training focused upon sensory processing strategies and self-regulation nationally and internationally, as well as having developed programs such as the Self-Regulation and Mindfulness program.
